Energy Workshop. Build your own solar light!

13. May. 2023

Every product contains so-called grey energy. Production, transport, storage, sale and disposal even cause a large part of global CO2 emissions. Lending and sharing objects, such as in the Leihlager, saves resources, energy and protects the environment.

The sun is the cheapest source of energy worldwide. Sunlight, in combination with wind and water, enables a high degree of energy independence and security of supply. But how do the different technologies work? How is the sun’s radiant energy converted into heat, electricity or even CO2-neutral fuels?

The experiments of the Nomatark association allow a practical introduction to the subject. At the latest, after you have soldered together your own solar lamp in a cucumber jar and understood how your photovoltaic cell works in the atomic model, you will see the light! Maybe you’ll even install a plug & play solar system on your balcony afterwards and reduce the whole family’s electricity costs.

Bring along: Your own empty cucumber jar, size to be announced after registration.

Target group: For children, teenagers and young adults between 12 – 21 years.
